Folly Beach is a beautiful barrier island six miles long on the western edge of Charleston Harbor. Out on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, the locals call their island “The Edge of America”. Beachfront homes in Folly Beach date from the 1950s to new in 2014. New homes range in price from $1 million to over $2.5 million while well-maintained and renovated homes range from the low $600,000s to over $1 million. If you can find a beachfront house for $500,000 or less, it is bound to need some renovations and updating. Homes along the Folly River also run over $1 million in price. The homes in Sunset Point range from the mid $400,000s to the mid $600,000s.
Townhomes and condominiums are priced from the mid-$300,000s to the mid-$900,000s. If you purchase a property just before the Folly River Bridge off Folly Road in areas such as Mariners Cay, Marsh Winds and Oak Island, prices are lower. These homes range from the mid-$100,000s to the mid-$300,000s.
